Hello, I am Jonas
I am a project manager, a parent, and an expat based in Zurich, Switzerland.
A few years ago I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of my life abroad.
How It Began
Moving to Switzerland wasn't in our long-range plan. Like many international relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more tangled than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of hands-on learning. Yet gradually, routines took shape. We found places that suited us, met other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built Tidal Stone Quill
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourism content. What was missing was genuine, everyday family insight.
This site exists to fill that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Switzerland.

This site is:
